Story telling workshop at Sikhya School

A story telling workshop was organized by Dream Factory for the students of Sikhya School.

Some words about the Sikhya School:
Sikhya caters exclusively to underprivileged children. It currently has classes from nursery upto Class VIII. No fees are charged from the parents. All facilities--teaching, sports, hobbies, textbooks, are free for the children.

All children are also given uniforms, transport and daily food, all completely free of charge. Value-based education is a key thrust area. To go beyond mere text-book learning to building character-qualities and values like courage, integrity, fearlessness, conscientious citizenship and secularism.

Woollens for street kids campaign

Our Mission:

Join our mission "Woollens for Street Kids"... contribute some money and ask your friends to contribute too. This campaign aimed for some woollens for street kids. Our target was to collect 8,000 to 10,000 but we collected 17,000.

Once we reached our target our team purchased woollens (sweaters, gloves, caps etc.) and hit the roads/colonies/construction sites etc. and distributed the woollens.

Our Plan:

How we executed:

Part 1:

One day trip to Old Ludhiana. Purchased Woollens worth Rs. 16,200. Will be distributing

them on 25th December 2011. :)

Making way to Dal Bazaar

Part 2:

The best Christmas we ever had... Dream Factory family today distributed woollens to STREET KIDS... it was a wonderful experience... the smiles on the faces of the kids gave immense pleasure... Thanks to all the friends and well wishers who contributed for this nobel cause :) Special thanks to the team for joining us in the 6 hours STREET CAMPAIGN :)

We asked a simple question to the whole bunch of kids in Jagatpura Village "Who is the prime minister of INDIA ?" to which only 1 girl Karishma gave the right answer out of 100 kids. We were so happy and gifted her a ball and a pen !

The Happy Bunch !
